Buzz Bingo
Buzz Bingo are one of the largest operators of bingo clubs in the UK, with venues and digital channels across the country. Previously trading as Gala Bingo Clubs, the business underwent a full rebrand in 2018 — and from 2016, I was part of the leadership team that developed the new bingo brand identity, personality, and story that would define that transformation.
Being embedded from the outset meant I was shaping the strategic direction of the bingo brand identity, not just executing it. That involvement — understanding the business, the audiences, the competitive landscape, and the ambitions behind the rebrand — gave the creative work a depth and coherence that wouldn’t have been possible from a purely executional brief.
The Buzz Bingo brand needed to feel fun and vibrant without being frivolous — and that balance was central to every creative decision.
From the colour palette and typography to the tone of voice and imagery style, the goal was to establish a consistent visual language that would resonate with a broad, loyal audience while giving the marketing team a practical, flexible toolkit across every channel.
Direction at this scale means working across internal teams, external agencies, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously. It’s as much about managing creative consistency and strategic clarity as it is about the design itself — ensuring that everything from digital advertising to in-venue environments to promotional campaigns feels coherent and on-brand.
The work spanned both brand and campaign creative, giving Buzz Bingo a stronger, more confident presence across digital and social channels, in-club print, and promotional materials. Each element was developed with both the brand guidelines and the specific channel in mind, ensuring the bingo brand identity translated effectively at every touchpoint.
It’s a project I’m incredibly proud of — a genuinely ambitious, large-scale rebrand delivered collaboratively and strategically from the inside out.
